The CEO of Filmhub Explains What Filmhub is
From a branding perspective, they've ditched the term "marketplace". It becomes too confusing to filmmakers and causes them to think that Filmhub is not actively pitching their titles to streaming channels. Every distributor operates as a marketplace - a marketplace is just a 2-sided platform of supply and demand - in the case of distributors its content and streaming channels.

Filmhub has a dedicated sales team that is constantly talking to streaming channel partners and is working to get as many titles as possible selected by streaming channels. If they just had a title available in a long list, it wouldn't make it anywhere, unfortunately. The big difference between FILHUB and traditional distributors is they utilize technology and tools to make the team much more efficient and are then able to provide data to streaming channels to help them pick.

Traditionally streaming channels have to email back and forth with a distributor to negotiate a title. With Filmhub's platform, they can click instant order and they get it automatically in 3-5 days and can chat with a sales rep backed with data to help streaming channels figure out what's best for them.

For instance - they recently had a Roku decline 150/200 titles submitted to them for review. They then armed them with extra data to further show how well the titles had been performing and they came back and selected 140/150 titles they had previously declined.

The real key here is that they automate their selection/delivery process. One-click to order and deliver which no other distribution company can do. That's why they now call themselves a distribution platform. Of course, they also believe that a distribution platform/company shouldn't have to take exclusive rights from a filmmaker to accomplish getting their films on streaming channels.
