A weight change in Argentine Tango is a great way to reconnect with your partner if you feel that you have lost the connection. We can use a simple friction connection to communicate a weight change.

Things to look out for:
1: When you start dancing, you will want to change your weight a lot as it gives you time to think about your next move. Try not to rely on the weight change for thinking time, especially after you've been dancing for a month or so.

2: Make sure you both are changing your weight and that one of you is not just changing your weight from the hips down. Often times we will see the weight change in the knees and not the whole body. You are changing your axis from one foot to the other. There will be a small physical shift of your axis in space.
