This is the Majora’s Mask Special Edition New 3DS, and I still remember what it was like 8 years ago when this first came out. So many people were questioning why this was gold, and not purple. People are still wondering this, and I never really understood why this was even a question? Zelda has always been Nintendo’s Golden Child, quite literally. With golden cartridges and golden special editions, Nintendo is always keen to slap gold onto the Zelda franchise, though surprisingly many people overlook that Majora’s Mask may be more golden than others to begin with. The entire start UI is also plated with gold, and Link’s ultimate sword in this one - not counting the Great Fairy Sword - is the gilded sword, a sword reforged with gold dust. But honestly? even though I can understand some people might’ve preferred the purple ideas… Isn’t this device just a thing of beauty?
