Charles Dickens Great Expectations is a bildungsroman novel that focuses on the moral, educational and psychological growth of Pip.

Pip Estella relationship forms a driving force in Pip's aspirations of being a gentleman. In Great Expectations, Pip meets Estella in the Satis House and wants to be worthy of her. He feels ashamed of his low social situation. Miss Havisham in Great Expectations plays the catalyst in igniting Pip's feelings for Estella because she wants to take revenge against men by making Estella break their hearts.

In Great Expectations, Pip and Estella share a very disharmonious relationship with the former pursuing the girl relentlessly and the latter ignoring and hurting Pip endlessly.

In Great Expectations, there are 2 Pip and Estella ending. In the earlier ending, Estella remarries and Pip stays single. In the revised ending, it is hinted that Pip and Estella might get married.
