At number 10 – The Black Harrier Circus maurus

The Black Harrier native to southern Africa is one of the rarest and most stunning harriers It has a striking black plumage with a white rump that is noticeable in flight This species is found in open grasslands and fynbos areas but it is highly endangered due to habitat loss and agricultural expansion Conservation programs are in place to protect this species but its numbers are still low

The Pallid Harrier is a migratory bird found in Central Asia Africa and South Asia Males are pale grey while females have brown plumage This species is known for its graceful flight over grasslands wetlands and fields Unfortunately the Pallid Harrier is under threat due to habitat destruction and agricultural practices leading to a decline in its population
