Video Review of the Hilton Moorea Lagoon Resort & Spa in French Polynesia.

Today I’m reviewing the Hilton Moorea Lagoon Resort & Spa. We wanted to go to Bora Bora but the Hilton there was under construction and they weren’t taking reservations. However, I’ve been on many tropical vacations and this was by far the best one.
Beach- The beach was beautiful and there was hardly any seaweed but it was pretty small. If you like to take long walks on the beach like I do, this is definitely NOT the place to do it. My husband and I walked around on the overwater bungalow walkways as a substitute.However, If you’re staying in an overwater bungalow, you don’t really need the beach because of your own private dock. 3.5 stars
Pool- The pool looked amazing from the photos online- but once we arrived there was caution tape around it and was out of service for our entire trip. It was very disappointing. We weren’t going to use it anyway, but if it was in service it would have been very nice. I contacted Hilton about it and they compensated us for what we missed out on. 3 stars
Grounds- The grounds were well kept. The overwater bungalow walkways were beautiful to walk on. No complaints. 5 stars
Room- The room was incredible and the view was amazing. We had our own private dock to snorkel and swim off of. There was a glass floor window where we could see the fish below. The room was clean and modern. Prior to our stay we looked at the resort map and saw that over bungalow no. 87 was the most private. We called ahead 6 months in advance to reserve it It had a 180 degree view of the ocean so we were glad we did that. Hands down. 5 stars
Food- As far as food goes, pretty good, but on this vacation, it was not my focus. The options available were to eat at the resort or to visit the various nearby restaurants which had free shuttles as transportation. My husband and I went to a restaurant called Rudy’s where we had the highly recommended crab stuffed parrot fish. It was so good that we went back twice. We also ate at the crepe restaurant which was located on the walkways of the overwater bungalows. It’s pretty cool because you can watch the sharks swim by while you eat. 4.5 stars
Staff- All of the staff were very friendly and everyone said hello to you when you walked by. Dinah from guest services hooked us up with room #87 and was very helpful prior to the trip. 5 stars
Nightlife- We never experienced any of the nightlife, since it was honeymoon trip. once or twice a week they had fire dancers perform at the resort which ended at 10pm at the latest. I would rate it 5 stars because it was good enough for a relaxing honeymoon vacation.
Activities- One of the activities that I loved was snorkeling (apparently it’s the best in the world). It was SO amazing and we saw different colorful fish every dive. The hotel provides you with snorkeling gear so you don’t have to bring your own. I found some Kate Spade sunglasses while snorkeling, so if you’re missing some, let me know. There was also paddleboarding and kayaking available. We took the paddleboards out in the morning to watch the sun rise. That was incredible. 5 stars
Excursions- There were a few different excursions available. My husband and I decided to try the four wheeler pineapple tour. It was cool, fun, but a little long. We also went on the helicopter tour which I highly recommend. The jet-skis were a lot of fun we had a blast. 4.5 stars.
Before I finish, I just want to mention that we went in early May and that’s usually when the island is coming out of summer season. In the summer it is usually very rainy and we didn’t have great weather. So if you’re looking for good weather, go between late May and late September. The weather is not as hot and these are the drier months. Regardless of the weather, it was still an incredible experience
So far, this has been the best trip I’ve been on. It was quite the experience. There are probably better hotels on the other islands, but this was really an incredible vacation. Overall I would rate the trip 4.5/5
