You can get the Galactic Contention mod from the Steam Workshop for Squad. The $50 price-tag for the base game is fairly steep, however you'd essentially be receiving two different games with the addition of this complete mod overhaul, plus the base-game is already fairly well-made if you like more mil-sim'ish type games. Still, I'd wait for a sale.
