Do you have a bank locker? In which bank locker you have kept your precious things, I'm going to tell you about that locker today. On 1st January 2023, the bank introduced new rules which are Safe Deposit Locker Agreement Rules. Will talk about its 5 important points.

1) Many times it happens to be some area out of the country and didn't operate the locker for a long time and also you would've read news about fraud in lockers, after this the situation ends up as it gets already late you are ended up with nothing.
According to new RBI guidelines, if any day your bank lockers get operated on that end of the day the bank has to send sms on both of your registered phone no and mail id so that you are aware of when your locker is operated and also if any unauthorized access happens.

2) Suppose from some circumstances the things present in your lockers are robbed or the building collapse or because of some employees if losses occur then the bank has to cover up all the losses that happened to you. Then it becomes bank responsibility to secure your valuable things.
3) If losses come then how much does the bank pay? So the bank has to pay 100 times the price of your annual locker rent. Suppose you're paying 2000 Rs annual rent so the bank has to pay you 200 * 100 i.e 200000 Rs

4) If anything occurs due to natural calamities for example earthquake or any sort of things which are not controllable by the bank and due to that if any losses comes to your things kept in the locker then in that case the bank is not responsible for the losses you faced.

5) Whenever the bank allots the locker to you, at that time many banks may ask for deposit, F.D or any other demands. So according to new guidelines the bank can only ask for the deposit where the deposit should be the annual rent 3 times also if by any reason the locker has to be broken then they can also charge for that too.
For example if the locker's rent is 5000 Rs per annum and in 3 years it becomes 15000 Rs adding to the cost for the bank to break the locker can be asked by the bank to pay them as a deposit
