As you've probably noticed, I love boats and I like lighthouses. These two things really go together well, and a trip to Sheffield Island is a great afternoon out. I took the classic tour, but there are many options from sunset tours to clam bakes and special events. Check their website.

There are many lighthouse tours available along the shoreline, and it makes for a great ride and great history for us buffs. Always keep in mind as we're experiencing heat waves every week here in New England that it's always a little cooler on the water as well. I think it's a great way to beat the heat for a bit.
