"West Supports Israel" | Iran 'Stands Behind Hezbollah' As World Fears Full-Fledged War In Lebanon

World leaders sounded the alarm over fears of a wider war amid spiraling tensions along the Israel-Lebanon border. On Sept. 23, Lebanon recorded its deadliest day in nearly two decades after Israeli air strikes on Hezbollah strongholds resulted in hundreds of deaths.
The Israeli bombardment on Sept.22 and 23 killed at least 558 people in Lebanon, according to the country's health ministry. The death toll – the highest since Israel and Hezbollah went to war in mid-2006 – raised fears of an all-out conflict that could engulf the Middle East.
Meanwhile, Iranian president told CNN that “we must not allow Lebanon to become another Gaza at the hands of Israel.” Pezeshkian added that Tehran’s ally Hezbollah "cannot stand alone" against Israel.
The Iranian president’s remarks came in response to a question if Iran would use its influence with Hezbollah to urge restraint.
