The Sims
In The Sims 1, The Goth Family from base game has a cemetery in their backyard. Home Cemeteries are the only cemeteries that contain ghosts in The Sims 1. They will come at night and spook Sims. There are three types of Gravestones in The Sims, as well as an urn In The Sims. But players have no control over which one appears after a Sim dies. There are also decorative graveyards in Old Town and Magic Town, but they lack ghosts. Celebrities and pets have their own special gravestones.

The Sims 2
The Sims 2: Nightlife added a a community lot graveyard and the ability to move graves from one lot to another. Located Downtown is the Gothier Green Lawns cemetery. At night, some of the Sims' ghosts may appear. They can be seen roaming around the graveyard, they will often posses some objects. When it's nearly dawn, they'll return to their grave. The Sims 2 base game was known for it's home cemeteries. Worth mentioning are The Goth family, for having few graves in their backyard. The Specter family is also know for having a massive graveyard in their garden.

The Sims 3
In The Sims 3, Graveyards came with the base game. They're a lot assignment, which means that Sims who don't possess the Brave or Evil traits will have the Creepy Graveyard moodlet when visiting the Cemetery at night. Every graveyard has a Mausoleum that Sims can explore. Sims cannot hold funerals on Graveyards, but they pick up and can transfer the gravestone there. Sims can mourn the deceased, you can also engrave an Epitaph. After midnight Ghost might start coming out, you can wake them up anytime by lighting fireworks on the Graveyard.

The Sims 4
A cemetery lot assignment was introduced with The Sims 4: Life & Death. Eternal Hollow is a pre made cemetery located in Ravenwood. on its grounds there is one building where Sims can hold funerals for their Sims that passed away. On The cemetery there are gravesite plots available for a deceased Sim . On graveyards can be found Cemetery Keepers, that tend and clean gravesite plots. Loungers were also added with The Sims 4: Life & Death. on Graveyards at any time of the day can also be seen Mourners, visiting and tending the graves of the deceased, lighting candles and mourning the Sims.
There are also crypts that Sims can explore.
