Megatherium was a prehistoric giant ground sloth that lived in South America during the Pleistocene Epoch, growing as large as an elephant and standing up to 6 meters tall when on its hind legs. Despite its massive claws and powerful limbs, it was a plant-eater that fed on leaves, branches, and shrubs, often using its strength to pull down trees for food. Sheepsquatch, also known as the “White Thing,” is a creature from Appalachian folklore, especially in West Virginia, described as a large, wooly beast resembling a sheep with the body of a bear. Said to be covered in thick white fur and sometimes reported with horns and sharp claws, it is often described as having a strong, musky smell and lurking in forested hills and riverside areas. Sightings describe it as shy but capable of acting aggressively when disturbed. Though popular in local legends and cryptid stories, there is no scientific evidence of its existence.
