Campbell Tractor submitted this field trial of the Smart Apply Precision Spray and Data System in cherries. What’s cool about this video is it features a new LectroBlast sprayer with a factory-installed Smart Apply System. Much of our equipment is inside the sprayer - except of course our LiDAR which powers our precision spray action by sensing tree size and foliage density.

The focus of this video is the spraying action. With Smart Apply, there is no more continuous spraying. Instead, chemicals are applied to individual trees. The sprayer stops when nothing is sensed. At about 15 seconds in, you’ll see how it stops at a blank spot in the row.

The Smart Apply System saves growers an average of 50% on chemicals and water. That’s huge for the bottom line and for preserving water resources. Chemical run off and air borne drift are minimal - a win for the environment.

The Smart Apply System is a kit that can be installed on virtually any new or used air blast, over-the-row or GUSS sprayer.
