VIDEO DESCRIPTION:

Join Lauren and Joren as they take you on a tour of their fully converted camper van. They shower in the van once or twice a week and utilize other facilities the rest of the time. Downsizing from a house in Central Ohio to van life has brought a lot of changes, including managing monthly expenses comparable to their previous rent. Come on in and take a tour.

Functional Kitchen Setup
Welcome to the inside of the van! Here in the kitchen, Lauren and Joren have a sink with hot and cold water and two large countertops, providing ample space for cooking and prep. They use a one-burner induction cooktop and a 9-in-1 Ninja Foodi that bakes, air fries, sautés, and pressure cooks, making it versatile and perfect for van life. The all-electric setup, powered by 620 watts of solar on the roof and an alternator, ensures they have enough power to cook at least one hot meal a day.

Smart Storage Solutions
The van features clever storage solutions like toe kick drawers for laundry supplies and pet essentials. Their fridge stores up to a week and a half of food, with additional pantry space and a full-length mirror. The kitchen doubles as a dresser area, holding clothes and photography equipment. The Nautilus sliding shower door leads to a full wet bath, perfect for quick showers after outdoor activities. The airhead toilet is efficient and odor-free, with an external vent and easy maintenance.

Living and Sleeping Areas
The back half of the van is a multifunctional space for living, sleeping, and working. The U-shaped bench and swivel table serve as a workspace and dining area, with full-length cabinets for maximum storage. Windows with screens provide cross ventilation. The bench houses a 30-gallon water tank, hydronic heater, and all electrical components, including a 3,000-watt inverter. A mini projector allows for movie nights, and built-in storage cubbies keep laptops safe and accessible.

Convertible Bed Design
The bench converts into a large, comfortable bed, about the size of a queen. The foam cushions ensure a good night's sleep. Exterior storage includes an Aluminus rack, Rover Vans Expedition box for dirty items, and a custom roof rack for solar panels and an exterior light bar. Suspension upgrades enhance the van's handling, making it a smoother ride.

Cost and Lifestyle
The total cost of the van was around $78,000, with $40,000 for the van and $38,000 for the conversion. Monthly expenses range from $1,000 to $1,500, including gas, cell phone bills, groceries, insurance, and a gym membership. For work, Lauren does digital marketing, while Jordan manages their blog, LJexplore.com, covering van life, lifestyle tips, recipes, and travel guides.
