Anthony's Story: Opioid addiction, Grief, and Finding Sobriety

Anthony's father suffered from addiction for years before his death in 2015. Anthony also battled addiction for many years. With help from his loving mother who never gave up on him, he was able to get help.

Anthony found help here at A Better Today and started noticing the benefits of working his treatment program honestly and willingly. Overcoming his addiction was not an easy or comfortable experience. Eventually, his body adapted, and he was experiencing joy and happiness in sobriety. However, after some time he experienced a relapse and he began to use opioids again.

After some time, and becoming completely financially unstable, Anthony sought out help again. This time he was more determined than ever. Wanting to get to the root of the problem was something he greatly desired. The licensed therapist helped him develop tools to overcome the emotional pain he had experienced.

Anthony fought his demons to the best of his ability and came out of every therapy session with a newfound sense of strength and desire for perseverance.
