Martin Lyriq Bent (born January 3, 1979) is a Jamaican-Canadian actor. He starred in the Saw films, Rookie Blue, and The Book of Negroes. Bent plays Jamie Overstreet in the Netflix series She's Gotta Have It. In his early career, Lyriq Bent was a Computer Graphics Technician. However, Bent's plans were short-lived when he decided to pursue acting. As a result, he has already made numerous film and TV appearances. Bent's eclectic mix of roles has earned him acclaim in both Canada and the U.S. For the web series For the Record, he was nominated for Best Lead Performance in a Web Program or Series at the 10th Canadian Screen Awards in 2022. Previously, he won Best Performance by an Actor in a Lead Role in a Dramatic Program or Limited Series: The Book of Negroes in 2015.
