Here’s how you get the companion pass for two years:

💡Keep in mind you need to earn 135,000 points in one calendar year to get the companion pass

1. Get one of the Southwest Credit Cards
The link I send you if you comment “Southwest” will give you a link to the card that will give you 100,000 points after you spend $4,000 in 5 months.
👉 BUT, you want to be careful with WHEN you spend the full $4,000 if you want to get the pass for two years. (see below)

2. Make the $4,000 Spend AFTER January 1, 2026

If you spend $3,900 up until December, then spend the remaining $100 on January 1, you will get the bonus points AFTER you hit the $4,000 spend.
This would mean you EARN your 100,000 points in 2026. So. you just need to earn the remaining 35,000 points in 2026 to earn the companion pass for that year and the next.

✨Because you have 5 months to spend the $4,000, you can spend towards the total spend up until December, but just don’t go over the $4,000 to make sure your points are earned in 2026. If you want to do this, DO NOT hit your spend early (BE VERY CAREFUL ABOUT THIS) because if you accidentally hit the $4,000 spend, then the points are earned in 2025 and WILL NOT count towards your 2026 earned points.
If you do make the spend in 2025, you need to earn the other 35,000 Points before the end of the year, because you can still earn the companion pass for this year and next.

3. Choose how you’re going to earn the remaining needed 35,000 points:

📌Referrals earn 20,000 points (so, you can refer your spouse, travel buddy, family members, etc to get the card)

📌You can earn extra points by using Southwest Rapid Rewards Shopping to earn extra points by buying things you were already going to buy!

📌Or, you can get the Southwest Business Credit Card to get 80,000 points after spending $5,000 in 3 months. (And yes, YOU can get a business credit card, even without a traditional business, I wrote a whole article on how!)

✨ Also, remember the points you earn from spending on the card count towards the points needed to earn the companion pass!
