People love to ask, "What's touring like, Joe?"

To which I reply...

Imagine being stuck in a van with a bunch of dudes. The moment they're together, they collectively halve their emotional intelligence. 13 year olds piloting a $90,000, 36 foot vehicle across tens of thousands of miles of highway and asked to perform nightly, like some late night monkey roadshow attraction. They're also in a mostly platonic, slobbering, and highly dysfunctional marriage and each are given a heavy share of responsibilities. If they fail to uphold those responsibilities, their livelihoods and live's work will crumble. The highs are high and the lows are low, but not a damned one of us would trade it for anything (anything, at least, valued below $2500).

On a particularly challenging day, I surprised everyone with a special request... We were in Denver, Colorado, slated to play a near sold out Meow Wolf. We had also spent the prior evening learning how to put chains on our tires on a mountain shoulder road in near white out conditions. We were tired, and sick with elevation, and dehydrated, and crusty, and nasty.

But yeah, I said...

"My dear brothers, gonna need ya'lls positivity and participation on your off day tomorrow. Gonna need to film each band member in slo motion getting violently whipped around on a merry go round for 3 minutes each for a music video. And because I chose to do other less important things over the last few weeks, tomorrow is the only day we can do it."

The following music video is the result of our efforts. Chunks were spewed. Tempers were twirled and twisted. Stars were seen as our vision slowly narrowed and blurred. We rescinded to our most tribalistic playground nature. Our mouths watered and out pupils became engorged at the idea of being able to punish each other on the merry go round. And by god, we sent each hurling other into space.
