The Quartet of Clarinettists "Ernesto Cavallini"
Erasmo SPINOSA, Marco CARBONI , (Clarinetti) Luciano CASCIOLI, (Clarinetto Piccolo) Manlio SALVATI, (Clarinetto Basso)
We have grown individually through several and different musical experiences, in marching bands, chamber orchestras and symphony orchestras (the orchestra of San Carlo's theatre , the chamber orchestra "F. Durante" in Naples, the orchestra "L. Refice" in Frosinone, the symphony orchestras in Pesaro and in San Remo, the orchestra "Haydn" in Bolzano, the "Virginia Symphony Orchestra" in U.S.A.).
Since 1998 our different voices have interacted, divided parts and exchanged roles in that bright game that is the interpretation of music pieces.
Learning to appreciate and mix the different sonorities is a riveting challenge since the special ability of the clarinet to do it that moreover gratifies the hearing. There is not any sounding field that our ensemble cannot face since it has got a body in the bass clarinet, a soul in the soprano clarinet, the emotion in the piccolo clarinet and its beat in the percussion instruments.
We perform different kinds of music from baroque music to the contemporary one, from the original pieces ( some of them ordered by our ensemble) to famous transcriptions of opera and jazz pieces taken by musicals and soundtracks.
Our style can be reflected in the name we chose that underlines the dichotomy of the known versus the unknown because Ernesto Cavallini was a famous clarinettist and nineteenth century composer who was the soloist clarinettist at "La Scala" in Milan but most of people did not know him.
Our concert activity lasts the whole year and our reeds vibrate in churches, theatres, squares, tube stations, cultural clubs, TV studios transforming air into sound.
Among the most prestigious places that made our performances unforgettable there are: Traiano Theatre in Civitavecchia, Opera Theatre in Rome, Barberini Palace and Brancaccio Palace in Rome, Quirinal Palace in Rome (on the occasion of our Republic Day), the Civic Museum in Treviso, the Musical Instruments Museum in Rome, Provincia Palace in Piacenza, Villa Petraia in Florence, Military garrison in Venice and the tours in Sicily and in Germany in Mönchengladbach.
In 2003 we were added in the poster of the IX European Music Feast.
In 2007, on demand of the Foundation "V. Bucchi", we performed at the "Clarinet day" in the hall called "Baldini" in Rome.
In 2008 we performed at Capitol in the hall called "Pietro da Cortona" in the Capitoline Museums before the mayor of Rome, Hon. Gianni Alemanno.
