They aren’t for a national holiday, they’re a celebration for one individuals years of hard work. 👩‍🎓

In Algeria, when a student passes the Bac exam—the massive test that marks the end of high school, their family celebrates by setting off fireworks somewhere in the city. There’s no official time or place. Each student picks their moment, grabs their family, and lights up the night in their own way. Exam results are released every year in late July, so I got to enjoy the view all over the city and event captured this special moment at one of Constantine’s famous monuments.

It’s not a coordinated event. It’s a thousand tiny celebrations—proof that effort matters, that pressure meant something, and that pride can be loud.
