In this stream, I explain all about the mutable instruments challenge prior to the Dutch Modular Fest 2025 where this challenge will be taking place with four different participants.

The challenge involves taking a fully unpatched Eurorack case that is entirely populated with the full range of mutable instruments modules and within an hour create a patch that shows off some of the quirky and influential sounds and approaches that typify the Mutable approach. All the modules that Mutable Instruments released are here n mk2 format where applicable. Oddities like CV Pal, Sheep and Anushri are not included.

Patch cables are the official Mutable Instruments ones that came in a funky bag. Other utility cables are provided by Synthcables.com. The challenge allows a midi keyboard to be attached to Yarns and also a small mixer too. The mixer is the excellent Cre8 Audio Assembler.
