So you’re thinking about purchasing a school bus to make your home, or legs to a weekend getaway. Here’s just part of the story of the transformation that my 1997 International Bluebird bus has taken so far.

First, if you purchase a bus that has substantial rust, you’re making your build twice as difficult and many times more expensive. If you decide that it doesn’t matter, you have the bus already and you’re determined to make that bus your home, get ready. In short, that’s my story. I’m not sure if it was blind ignorance or blissful naivety that got me to point I’m at on Skoolie309 but I can tell you this: It’s been a real journey not only in the building of my home, but the sheer amount of personal growth throughout. One seems to mimic the other. 309 stands as a drivable, livable metaphor for the man I have become throughout the build.
