National Network for Safe Communities Conference, June 23, 2015: Gerald W. Lynch Session

10:00 AM-11:30AM: Plenary 1: Truth-telling, Reconciliation, and the National Initiative for Building Community Trust and Justice
Location: Theater

This plenary session will provide an overview for the National Initiative for Building Community Trust and Justice (NI) and to situate NI in the context of the post-Ferguson climate around trust, legitimacy, reform and reconciliation. Plenary participants will discuss the genesis of NI, its aims and early steps, and its relevance to the national interest in re-examining traditional criminal justice and promoting truth-telling and reconciliation between law enforcement and the communities they serve.
