Making A Raw Wool Rug On A Hand Loom

Описание к видео Making A Raw Wool Rug On A Hand Loom

These great rugs are made by our friend Bridget Tretheway on her Dryad upright handloom. She sources the wool locally and she cards it herself. We visited her recently to chat to her about her work and show how they are made. Even if you are not a home-weaver we hope you can appreciate the skill of the process and the deceptive simplicity of the machine itself.

(Definitely a loom goes on the list of things I’d like to make – but that’s already quite a long list!)

This is a little out of the ordinary for us, but there are many skilled craftspeople living locally and we thought we might occasionally include them on this channel.

This is not an advert (she doesn't need one) but If you’re interested Bridget can wrap these and send them to most places by post – contact her through us. Or you might like to check out Chris’s Craftshop on   / craftshopbantry

I tried to find recent references to Dryad looms, but it seems they may no longer exist.

Thanks Bridget – you are an inspiration!
