The University of Jammu, in collaboration with J&K Science Technology and Innovation Council, Govt. of Jammu & Kashmir, proudly announces the forthcoming JK Women Science Congress-2024, scheduled from February 11th to 13th, 2024. Unveiled during a Curtain Raiser Press Conference by Vice Chancellor Prof Umesh Rai, the event aims to celebrate and showcase women's outstanding contributions in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).

Aligned with the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, recognized by the United Nations General Assembly on February 11th, 2015, this congress serves as a pivotal platform to emphasize gender parity in science and inspire the next generation of women in STEM.

Prof Umesh Rai, along with Prof Anju Bhasin, Dean Academic Affairs and Convener of the event, Prof Jyoti Vakhlu, Co-convener, Prof. Monika Chadha, Convener Press, and Prof. Sarika Manhas, revealed that Hon'ble Lieutenant Governor JKUT & Chancellor University of Jammu Shri Manoj Sinha will inaugurate the Science congress on Feb 11. 2024. Prof. Vibha Tandon, Director, CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Biology (IICB), Kolkata, will be the guest of honor, and Sh. Saurabh Bhagat, Commissioner Secretary to the Government, Department of Science and Technology, JKUT, will be the special guest of the occasion.
