Absolute stunning, one of only 1,278 produced, early-production Mercedes-Benz W187 220 Cabriolet A in great mechanical and cosmetic condition. The car retains its original 2.2-liter inline-six-cylinder engine making 79 hp and four-speed manual transmission. Only 65442 indicated kilometers on the odometer. The car is coming out of long-term Danish collector ownership and has Danish papers and registration. Paperwork from Mercedes-Benz dated 1967 confirming past Dutch ownership is included in the sale. The car passed Danish Syn/MOT/TUV in February 2021. Full service and inspection assure the car can be enjoyed as-is for many years to come.

History of the 1952 Mercedes-Benz W187 220:
The Mercedes-Benz W187 is a luxury car produced by Mercedes-Benz from 1951 to 1955. Introduced at the Frankfurt Motor Show in April 1951, the W187 was powered by a single overhead camshaft inline six-cylinder M180 engine and available as a saloon, coupe, and cabriolet, all designated with the 220 model name.

The styling was similar to that of the Mercedes-Benz 170S except that the 170's freestanding headlights were for the 220 integrated into the fenders for a slightly more modern look. Two different cabriolet models were built, conceived as exclusive sporting cars of exclusive character, but these only sold 1,278 and 997 for the "A" (2-door, 2/3-seat) and "B" (2-door, 4-seat) versions, respectively. This car is the more expensive and collectible “A” model.
