What to see in Mezzojuso, Palermo

Описание к видео What to see in Mezzojuso, Palermo

On this episode of You, Me and Sicily we travel to Mezzojuso, in the Province of Palermo. There are plentiful vineyards, olive groves and land for cattle sheep and goats . Driving there you can admire many natural beauties . In the center of the historic town it's easy to get lost among the narrow streets, stairs and alleyways .
Mezzojuso is one of five towns in Sicily that were settled by Albanian or Arbreshe people who brought their Byzantine Greek and Latin Rite customs, traditions and language in the 1400. Today some of those traditions are still alive. We take you to some of the important churches, the Basilian Monestary to get a look at some important Greek books from the 16th century, plus we show you some of the local street foods and sweets.
