This piece represents a darker side to power, a force that can consume you and take over if you’re not careful. It mirrors the messages of swan lake and the light and dark powers of the black and white swan. ‘The Swan Song’ is sometimes known as a metaphor for a final chance/performance before death, the phrase coming from the belief that swans sing a beautiful song right before they die since they are silent most of their lives. This relates to the ‘darker side’ of your power, the part where swans are silenced most of their lives, and when you finally embrace this power and your darker side, it’s when you truly sing. But this power be overwhelming and can consume you if you’re not careful. The black swan can destroy the white swan, just like in swan lake, and it can ultimately lead to our demise, making the fear and consumption power the cause of a swan’s last dance.
