Handvo is a traditionally famous Gujarati dish
It’s like a savoury cake
Can enjoy travel or any time
It can make on cook top and oven both
[ ] 1/4 cup moong chilka dal
[ ] 1/3 cup toor dal
[ ] 1/2 cup Chana dal
[ ] Krishna kamod rice 1 cup
[ ] 1/2 tsp fenugreek seeds
[ ] Water
[ ] Salt 1 tbsp or as required
[ ] Sugar 4 tbsp or jaggery powder
[ ] 1 tbsp red chilli powder
[ ] 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
[ ] 1 tbsp garam masala
[ ] 1 tbsp dhaniya powder
[ ] 1/4 tsp fruit salt (eno)
[ ] 2 tbsp lemon juice (or curd if want sour)
[ ] 2 cup fenugreek leaves
[ ] For tadka 2 tbsp oil
[ ] 1 tbsp fenugreek
[ ] 1 tbsp sesame seeds
[ ] 1/2 tsp asafoetida
[ ] 1 tbsp mustard seeds
[ ] Few curry leaves
[ ] Red dried chilli
[ ] 1/2 cup urad dal
[ ] 1/3 cup Chana dal
Recipe
Take all dal and rice and washed until clean water.
Soak overnight
Grind coarsely and add spices and fenugreek leaves .
Season with salt,fruit salt,lime.
Grease mould and preheat oven
Pour batter into the mould and sprinkle roasted mustard seeds,curry leaves and sesame seeds,chilli.
Bake 350 for 50 to 60 minutes or until fully baked
Pour hot oil onto hando or Indian savoury cake .
For gas method add oil into hot oil,mustard seeds,asafoetida,curry leaves,fenugreek seeds and pour batter and cook from both side.
Cover and cook until fully cooked
Enjoy delicious handvo with tea.
