Indian Economic Updates : From Power and Roads to Homes and Healthcare — PM Modi’s ₹13,000 Crore Development Drive from Bodh Gaya Marks a Transformative Step Towards a Developed Bihar for a Developed India

With this vision, the Government of India continues its mission to accelerate Bihar’s growth and prosperity. From the sacred land of Bodh Gaya, development projects worth ₹13,000 crore are being inaugurated and launched, marking a major leap in the state’s progress.

Key projects in energy, health, housing, roads, water supply, and railways will transform the lives of millions. In Buxar, the first 660 MW unit of the 1,320 MW Thermal Power Project by SJVN (worth ₹6,900 crore) is now operational, boosting jobs, industry, and infrastructure.

Healthcare gets a strong push with the Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Centre in Muzaffarpur, offering advanced treatment to patients across eastern India. Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, 16,000 families will receive new homes, adding to the lakhs already benefited.

The 8 km Ganga Bridge between Aunta (Mokama) and Simariya (Begusarai) will enhance connectivity across northern and southern Bihar, saving time, fuel, and logistics costs. It will also strengthen industries such as Barauni Refinery, Thermal Power Station, and Sudha Dairy.

The Amrit Bharat Express (Gaya–Delhi) and Buddhist Circuit Train (Vaishali–Koderma) will improve connectivity while showcasing Bihar’s cultural and spiritual heritage.

New STP, sewerage, and water supply projects will provide cleaner water and a healthier environment across several districts.

These initiatives reaffirm the Government of India’s commitment to sustainable growth, strong infrastructure, and job creation — steering Bihar toward progress, self-reliance, and prosperity.
