The students of Vocational Schools or community colleges are finding their own way to get a chance to work for local companies. The Vocational Education and Training Center in HRD seems to have a solution for solving both the manpower shortage in local companies and the unemployment crisis for the young generation. Samyang Reduction Gear, which is located in the Namdong Industrial Complex in Incheon, is a manufacturing plant of a specialized company in reduction gear.



The skillful employees are concentrating on working.



Some of them are hired and educated from nearby local Human Resources Development, in short HRD.



HRD provides not only basic theory education, but also practical training, so that the companies can save cost and time for educating their employees.



The manpower shortage of small and medium sized companies has been solved with the cooperation of local HRDs.

Through maintaining relationships with HRD, we are helping employees to improve their work capacity, and get a lot of help in their new employment.



From now on, students who want to find a job will be able to collect information on local top or mid-sized firms, and moreover, receive advice or customized education on being hired.



The Ministry of Knowledge Economy and the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KORCHAM) held the opening ceremony of The Vocational Education and Training Center at the Incheon HRD on September seventh.



The center is mainly established for building a network between students from the Vocational Schools or community colleges and local enterprises.

The Vocational Education and Training Center was opened to solve a mismatch of the supply and demand of labor, seen in the small and medium sized businesses' manpower shortages and the unemployment crisis. And also, building a network between local companies and schools is going to be another major purpose of establishing the center.



The Vocational Education and Training Center is aiming to balance between small and medium sized businesses' manpower shortage and the unemployment crisis by nurturing human resources and running the matching system.



Particularly, after doing research on small and medium sized businesses, the center is planning to run a customized program which reflects the job managing standard.



It is also underway to open additional branches in four more cities including Seoul and Busan.
