M3 e36 Coil Over hardware ISC Suspension N1 Street Install/ CAtuned Adj. Sway links w Ride Height!

Описание к видео M3 e36 Coil Over hardware ISC Suspension N1 Street Install/ CAtuned Adj. Sway links w Ride Height!

This is not a detailed step by step, ISC has some videos as a reference. Instead, a showing of how I arrived at acceptable ride heights, which is non trivial. All threads in the design are 2mm pitch.

Honestly I got lucky, I used some older struts for eyeball of ride height and only had 2 iterations 1 front and 1 back. Details in the video. If this were a true track rat I would lower it some.

The method is very different with ISC as the 5mm preload paradigm dominates. The practical need for this is to keep the springs in place in the back, less so in the front, other vendors do not use preload. The double collars at front are not ride height; only preload, therefore the bottom steel modular piece is the adjustment along the damper body threading. The rear is a similar idea. The spring sets height and the damper is adjusted to match.

Front I adjusted pre load after install and fastened the double collar.

REAR: With the collar split facing inward set the ride height on both sides equal from top. Close the gap to the spring and perch. Hold the Trailing arm stationary with a floor jack in a firm place. Rotate the collar 2.5 times for 5mm preload. Adjust damper to location.

CAtuned adjustable sway links are used here as they are not hiem but ball type with a good cover so should have a good life cycle if installed properly. I am unaware of any adjustable sway link like these. For a street car they seem an excellent solution!
