At times it's quite hellish
The demons they relish
In my demise mocking my cries
Telling me lies that glisten
So I listen I lust.
This satisfaction is a must
Til the second I bust
Then nothing remains
Why trust these demons
Why welcome this pain
Deep inside the divine hides
Under billows of blackness
Satan conceals the truth
Like a marvelous actress
Harvesting souls perfectly
From an eternity of practice

And the fact is
When the divine light
Fails to shine
And stays dormant inside
I beg for more torment
And The devil abides
This rollercoaster is one hell of a ride
A sinister circus that whirls through the sky
A tumultuous cycle of pain and pleasure
The peaks and valleys too distant to measure
But I'm not a quitter
Although Patience is bitter
It's fruits are sweet
I’ll brave the cold
While I reach for the heat
Though Winter may blister
I won't retreat
I know spring will bring life
and I have to eat

In the mean time I'm tempted
Distracted and tricked
It's demented
This power feeds off me and brings me to the trenches
The two strongest forces
Battle for my soul
Sucking the life out of me like a tick til it's swoll
Why must I pay this toll
The two poles jousting with me in the middle
Playing tug of war til I'm torn and brittle
Wired and restless
Tired and breathless
Hopeless with no desire to eat an expired breakfast
Then I'm tackled and shackled and put back on the med list
Now check this
The guilt compounds itself until it becomes a mountain too high to climb
Wasting time because indecision is in the driver seat and he doesn't know how to drive
Wouldn't know what to do with honey if he was chilling in the hive
Spilling opportunities because he doesn't have money on his mind
Can't derive any meaning from being alive but he's still gonna drive
He knows not where he's going but has faith he will arrive
Tom petty tells him not to back down so he starts the engine
The windows are rolled down the winds blowing and I'm going
I got God up my sleeve
The devil over my shoulder
He wants me grow colder duller and bleaker
Shouting negative thoughts of doubt into my head like a blaring speaker
Like you might as well be dead I've never met someone weaker
Trying to squash me into the ground under his colossal dirty sneaker
Til I hear the sound of my inner voice scream out so loud it shatters the grim reaper

Out of darkness I fight my way into the light
I banish my fright and soak up my might
Gulping water like I've been stuck in the desert for years
And then the sky clears and I appear
Sprouting strongly like the magic beanstalk under the red sun
I rise
I'm free
We are all one I've become wise
There will be more Storms to come
I already hear the hum
As I type with these thumbs
But I will be ready
I will overcome
Let me be steady
Like the beat of a drum

When my hard work is done
There will be plenty of crops
For family and friends
And for all to eat well

What a spell
