Supported Decision Making; An Alternative to Conservatorships

Many families of adult children with special needs feel the duty to help their children or loved ones make good decisions, but are hesitant (or their child is ineligible) to take the step of conservatorship.

Other options - and often better options - exist for these families. One of these options, Supported Decision Making, is becoming more and more popular, both in California and across the country.

In this video, Ellen will explain what Supported Decision Making is and how it works. She’ll also provide examples of the forms that are involved and discuss how this process can be used to support your child or loved one.
