This is the longplay of the game Super Mario Land, action and platform game for Game Boy, having been produced and distributed by Nintendo. It was released in 1989 in Japan and the United States and in 1990 in Europe and Australia.

Unlike other games in the series, Super Mario Land takes place in Sarasaland, an empire where there are four kingdoms known as: Birabuto, Muda, Easton and Chai. One day the skies of Sarasaland were suddenly covered by a black cloud with a crack that from within emerged an unknown space monster called Tatanga, who wants at all costs to conquer the empire of Sarasaland. Tatanga hypnotized the inhabitants of all the realms so that he could have complete control over them and in this way he took over Sarasaland, wanting to marry Princess Daisy and become the king of the place. Knowing this, Mario decides to fight to save the princess, who is being held captive in the kingdom of Chai. Mario will need to travel through all the kingdoms of Sarasaland to protect the empire and save Daisy from the clutches of the evil Tatanga.

This was the first game in the Mario series to be released for a handheld console. Super Mario Land has slightly similar gameplay to Super Mario Bros.: the player controls Mario, who goes through twelve stages by moving to the right and jumping across platforms to avoid enemies and traps. Mario can defeat his enemies by jumping on top of them or shooting super balls, which unlike Super Mario Bros, here they ricochet all over the screen, in addition to being able to appear only one ball at a time on the screen, in addition to this ball being able to capture coins. In addition to the platform-style stages, there are also shmup-style stages where Mario pilots vehicles: the Sky Pop airplane and Marine Pop submarine, with which he can fire shots at enemies and at blocks. Extra lives items are now displayed as hearts, and end-of-level poles are replaced with a challenge (where if the player reaches the highest point, they will earn the right to participate in a bonus stage)

Hiroshi Yamauchi, CEO of Nintendo, asked Nintendo R&D1, managed by Gunpey Yokoi (the creator of the Game Boy), to develop a game in the Mario series to sell the new console. It was the first Mario game to be made without Shigeru Miyamoto, Mario's creator and Yokoi's mentor. Thus, the development team reduced Mario gameplay elements to the device and used some elements from the series inconsistently. Super Mario Land was one of the Game Boy launch titles, it was expected that this would be the game that demonstrated the system, but Nintendo of America nevertheless decided to release the console with the Tetris game included.

Super Mario Land was praised by critics, who were pleased with the franchise's transition to the Game Boy, but noted its short duration. It is a very good game of its time, which stands out for its originality and whose stages are based on landscapes that exist in the real world. Super Mario Land was a hit and sold over 18 million more copies than Super Mario Bros 3. The video was made in two playthroughs, one on the normal level (where the mushroom icon is) and the other on the hard level ( where the icon is replaced by a Mario head, in addition to having some enemies in different positions). The video was made by getting the secret passages and collecting as many coins as possible.
I hope you enjoy the video.
