Judo World Champion 2015 Takanori Nagase became Olympic Champion at the Tokyo Olympic Games. Nagase won Olympic bronze in Rio 2016. Nagase won the Universiade in Kazan (Student World Championships) in 2013. He won the All Japan Championships in 2015 and the IJF Masters in Rabat U81kg. In 2013, 2014 and 2016 he won the Grand Slam in Tokyo. He claimed a bronze medal at the Grand Slam in Osaka in 2018. He took silver at the Grand Slam of Ekaterinburg in 2019 and gold at the Grand Prix in Montreal and Zagreb. Nagase won the Grand Slam in Brasilia in 2019.

Judoka Joonhwan Lee from Korea captured the first place at the Hong Kong Junior Asian Cup U21 U73kg in 2018. He captured the gold medal at the Grand Slam in Tbilisi in 2022.
