During the exchange of views held at the Bangladesh Embassy in Madrid on Monday at 12 noon local time, the embassy's commercial secretary Redwan Ahmed, first secretary (labor) Md. Motasimul Islam was present.

The leaders of Spain Bangla Press Club briefed Ambassador Mohammad Sarwar Mahmud on various activities of the Press Club.

The Ambassador appreciated the initiative and role of Spain Bangla Press Club in repatriating 273 expatriate Bangladeshis stranded in Bangladesh on a special flight of Bangladesh Biman during the first wave of Corona epidemic on June 19 last year.

Among the leaders of Spain Bangla Press Club present during the exchange of views were President Sahadul Suhed, Members Kabir Al Mahmud, Saiful Amin and Abid Ahmed Chowdhury.

The Press Club leaders also discussed with the Ambassador various issues of Bangladeshi expatriates and their solutions. The members of the press club requested the embassy to take effective steps on various issues including obtaining police clearance certificate from the embassy, ​​construction of permanent Shaheed Minar in Spain, setting up of permanent consulate office in Barcelona.

Ambassador Mohammad Sarwar Mahmud said that the Bangladesh Embassy will be very sincere in providing services to the expatriate Bangladeshis and will try to solve the logical and possible problems. He also expects the cooperation of journalists in this regard. The Ambassador called upon the journalists to cover the interests of the expatriates while maintaining the dignity of Bangladesh.

Meanwhile, Redwan Ahmed, Commercial Secretary of the Embassy, ​​informed the media that Bangladesh has been achieving its export target in Spain for the past few years due to the good bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Spain.

First Secretary (Labor) Motasimul Islam said, sought the cooperation of journalists in motivating Bangladeshis living in Spain to become members of the Wage Earners Welfare Board.
