EYESY Video Synthesizer Test #1 (feat. the Roland JD-Xi)

Описание к видео EYESY Video Synthesizer Test #1 (feat. the Roland JD-Xi)

About half a year ago, I saw the kickstarter video for Critter & Guitari's EYESY video synthesizer. I had been wanting to get into video synthesis for a while, so jumped onboard and backed the project, and sure enough, a few months later it arrived at my doorstep.

I wasn't able to dive into it at first. Turns out I needed to buy a video capture device to run EYESY on your computer. So I had to wait for that, along with an HDMI cable, had to learn how to use the machine, and I'm already slow enough putting videos out already (sorry bout that)...

So, this has been a few months in the making. I've never made a demonstration video like this before but I figured I'd try to give a pretty comprehensive look at what EYESY can do out of the box. So I cooked up some patterns on the JD-Xi to give the visuals something to dance to, planned out how to show as much of the EYESY in as little time possible, and spent WAY more time than I'm comfortable to admit figuring out how to add overlays and objects on iMovie.

I can promise that no one is paying me, or asked me to do this. But I love watching other people demonstrate their gear, and I wanted to give back a little something to the community by sharing something (that was at this time) new.

Honestly, I hope this does get around, because this kind of community-driven piece of gear really needs more hands on it for it to increase its value. Like with other Critter & Gutiari instruments, the patches on EYESY are completely customizable, and anyone knowledgeable in coding graphics could make their own amazing visuals. The more people creating and sharing the better, so if you have that gift and already musically inclined, then check out the kickstarter page: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/...

Also as another admission, I do not know how to code in Python, or openFrameworks, etc. So I will do my best to answer questions about the device, but anything technical about programming, I don't think I can be much help. But Critter and Guitari's forum could be a good place for that: https://forum.critterandguitari.com/

I'm throwing in the patchstorage.com links below for all the user patches I downloaded. Some of them were originally made for C&G's ETC video synth but they worked fine with EYESY running the Python Disk Image.
