If this video helped you out and you want to buy me a monster or a gallon of gas, here’s my Venmo @Anthony-Norton-7

I really appreciate your support and hope to see you at the track!
Chuckwalla is a unique track, very fast corner speeds and your line and entry speeds are crucial for a good lap time. You’ll here me talking about early and late apexes and mentioning the way the bike is pointed (angles ). Bike placement and track usage are synonymous with your lap times here.

Starting in turn 1-2: 4th gear down to 2nd
You’ll feel like you have to brake really hard here and over slow the bike but the objective is the opposite. These two corners connect and are very fast. Using the brake just to control the straightaway speed and help get the bike pointed. If you can hold right until at least the two cone before committing to turn 1 you leave yourself the room to turn into 1 without closing the door on yourself for Turn 2. Although we are straightening out turn 1 its very much its own turn, respect that. My key is to be off the brake and transition to at least neutral throttle by the time i reach the curbing of turn 2. From here its a squirt of throttle into turn 3

Turn 3:
Turn 3 is fast and we want to use all the track on entry and exit, Important to roll through here fast and get a good drive onto the straight into turn 4. I’m 2nd gear here, up to 3rd, back to 2nd for turn 4.

Turns 4-5: 2nd gear
An early apex is optimal here. When we apex early it forces us to run wide, we can use this to our advantage to connect corner like 4 and 5. Here we apex a touch early (maybe 15 ft before apex cone) so the bike naturally runs wide on exit setting us perfect for turn 5. Turn 4 is technically a tighter turn than turn 5 we are progressively picking up speed out of 4 carrying that speed right through 5. Focus is to get a great drive out of 5 and into turn 6

Turns 6-7: 2nd gear
Similar to 4-5 in ways we use turn 6 to set us up for turn 7. In this case its opposite in a way where turn 6 is faster as 7 is a tighter decreasing radius. We dont have to use full track into turn 6. Turning into turn 6 from 1/2 or 2/3 track is good, apex a touch early so we naturally run out to the curbing for entry to turn 7. I drag a little brake here and let the reduction of speed naturally tighten up my radius to get direction in turn 7 and set me up for a late apex. Apexing later in a corner points us up the straight on exit so we can pick the bike up and get to full throttle sooner. SPEED=RADIUS

Turns 8-9-10: up to 3rd gear, back to 2nd gear
For me i try to straighten out turn 8 as much as possible and drive straight to the curbing of turn 9 on the brakes. Turn 9 “crash corner” is very much off camber BUT the closer you are to the curbing the more flat the surface is. I run the curbing really tight and hold onto this corner to near the end of the inside curbing. Sets me up for turn 10 to use more of the track on entry. Doing this I’m able to carry more roll speed into turn 10, get good direction for exit and late apex 10.

Turn 11-12: “The Slide” Up to 4th, back to 2nd gear
Turn 11-12 is fairly blind on entry. “The Slide” I use the curbing as references and turn in once i reach the beginning of the left side (outside) curbing at the end of the back straight. Turn in is very fast and the transition to 12 is equally fast. If you exercise patience in 11 and not transition to 12 to quickly it allows you to open up 12 a bit and get a really good drive into the bowl. I try not to overload the bike into the down hill left turn 12 because the bike tends to G out naturally. Smooth is fast here.

Turn 13 “The Bowl” 2nd gear
SPEED = RADIUS. Hard drive into the bowl. You can literally fly into it and let the natural forces of banking and off throttle engine braking do most of the work. Somewhat early first apex and let the bike run up into the banking and naturally slow, as this happens the bike will start to rotate toward the exit gaining proper direction and allow you to start rolling the throttle on. Be careful on exit not to run too wide too soon because the positive camber goes away on exit.

Turn 14: up tp 3rd back to 2nd
Straight forward, true apex. Meaning not too early or late. Smooth is fast, similar to turn 3 in my opinion. Get in strong and out smooth for turn 15.

Turn 15: 2nd Gear
A bit of a late entry late apex, Goal here is to get on the gas early and hard and get a good drive into the final corner

Turn 16-17: 2nd gear
Similar to the bowl, just without the banking. Using 1/2-2/3 track on entry and trail braking late into the corner to get the bike in fast, get direction, and get out fast. Leading onto the front straight we double apex this corner so we can get the bike upright and back to full throttle as soon as possible.

Don’t forget a good Dank Wheelie onto the front stretch ;)
