Neoprene is a trade name of DuPont but it can also be called CR or Chloroprene. Neoprene is a synthetic rubber that resists oil, ozone, and weather. However, Neoprene exhibits excellent resistance to refrigerants like Freon, for example. It is common to see Neoprene in refrigeration systems.

The service temperature range for Neoprene is -65 degrees Fahrenheit to 300 degrees Fahrenheit.

Common applications for Neoprene include refrigerant, freons, high aniline point oils, weather and ozone, ammonia gas, alcohol, low-pressure oxygen, vegetable oils, and silicate oils.

Some applications where Neoprene is NOT useful are phosphate esters, ketones, strong oxidizing acids, and brake fluids.
