The leftist lyrics mention Karl Liebknecht and Rosa Luxemburg, two important figures of the German worker's movement and founders of the German Communist Party (KPD). Both of them were murdered by reactionary paramilitaries. The mentioned 'Noske police' were a paramilitary police unit under the command of Gustav Noske.
