Gospel Trombone band - annual 'fire hose baptism' - Aug, '24 - Harlem, NYC - video by Michael Rosen

I caught this on my cellphone in NYC in August 2024.
It's from the annual 'fire hose baptism' offered by the United House of prayer in East Harlem where, decades ago, the community church had been replaced with housing units. Once the church was gone, they decided to offer an annual ceremony for the community to be 'baptised' together.
Those who wish to be baptized show up dressed in white. Eventually, a fire hose was brought out and everyone was sprayed. This lasted for at least 15 minutes.
There were at least 3 of these trombone 'orchestras', each one delivering it's own style of musical message.
I hadn't originally intended to attend the event. In fact, I didn't know anything about it. But while I was on a guided tour in Harlem, our guide suddenly remembered this was going on and suggested we attend. I stayed for quite a while, caught up in the joy of it all.
