In a 2018 NBC News interview, when Ivanka was asked if she believed the women who accused her father of sexual assault, she stated, “I think it's a pretty inappropriate question to ask a daughter if she believes the accusers of her father when he's affirmatively stated there's no truth to it.” In response, Axl tweeted, “What's inappropriate is Ivanka Trump being part of the White House administration.”

Two years later, the musician reiterated his disdain for the current administration, tweeting, “My disdain [for our] current administration and what I perceive as its [sic] threat to our democracy is no secret.” He emphasized that his posts reflect a sense of “outrage, obligation, and responsibility to say something at times when I feel not to is being complicit.”

Following Donald Trump's re-election, Ivanka announced she would not have a role in his cabinet, citing her commitment to her family.
