When Nebuchadnezzar was still a fearsome king,
I was in Babylon, his faithful governor.
My three devoted friends, reliable and brave,
Served the crazy king but true to God remained
The emperor decided in those very days
To build his golden statue for everyone to kneel and praise.
He learned that my friends, without any fears,
Wouldn’t worship other gods in a million years.

“Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego,
How dare you refuse to bow whenever I say so?”
”We won’t think again, even if it’s odd,
’Cause we will never disobey the sacred word of God.

And God in heaven is the only God we’ll praise forever!”
Raging and mad, the furious king said:
”Everybody change your mind or you’ll end up dead!”

God has held away the flames burning all around,
He came with them into the fire and kept them safe and sound.
