In the 1990s, during the rise of Alternative Rock, Half Life Half Death had embraced also the genre, especially that much of the music of many bands associated with it had the melodic elements of New Wave. Some of such bands that Half Life Half Death covered in the era were The Posies, The Smashing Pumpkins, Popsicle, Vanilla Trainwreck, Dillon Fence, Screaming Trees, Radiohead, Redd Kross, Dinosaur Jr., The Dambuilders, and The Lemonheads.

Hear ye! Half Life Half Death's guitarist Pet and bassist Ramil, having fun, revisiting some of the Alternative Rock songs that they and the rest of the band used to cover in their '90s heyday; here's "Rudderless" by The Lemonheads, in particular.

Half Life Half Death's guitarist Pet de Jesus, who has long been living in France, is currently in the Philippines for a vacation. He is tracking in his additional parts for the band's forthcoming new album, My Half Life Dream, at Ramil's home studio.
