Chilika Lake is not a lake but a lagoon. Today is 'Ulta Rath' and if you are in Puri check this out. OTDC PACKAGE from PURI TO CHILIKA. This covers Alarnath Temple on its way. The tour starts at 7am sharp from Pantha Nivas in Puri. This is close to Golden Beach, Puri. From there You'll get the OTDC bus which carries 30 passengers for the trip. They provide a guide who is extremely helpful and a very knowledgeable person.

The first stop is at a roadside dhaba for breakfast. The second stop is at Alarnath Temple. Thirdly, you’ll be taken to Yatri Nivas at Satapada for freshening up and for ordering your lunch. They'll prepare your lunch and after you return from the Chilika boat trip and museum trip, you’ll enter Yatri Nivas to eat your lunch, by 2pm. The fourth stop is at Chilika Lake, from where the guide will hire a boat for 30 people. It's fun to meet new people and become Travel Partners. The boat journey will stop at Hansaraj Island, from where you can stuff yourself with fresh fish, prawn, crab etc. To cope with your pocket pinch you can be happy with coconut water as well. From there you’ll return to Chilika ferry ghat by 1pm. There you’ll get the museum tour which is fantastic.
After this eat your lunch and board your bus to return to Puri. The bus will reach Puri by 5pm.

Let me tell you, there are many other restaurants around the museum. You can even eat your lunch from any of them.

The package costs 350/- per head.
An extra amount to be paid is 250/- per head for the boat trip.
Food is at your own cost.

To be precise, OTDC package for the Chilika Tour is the best to fetch memories in Chilika. Otherwise, private boat service is available which may cost you 4000/- per boat. And to reach Chilika again you have to pay a high amount to the cab. If you want to ask anything related to the trip, write in the comment section. I'll try to answer as much as I know.
