This is the intro to what will be a 3 part series documenting our experience in the Buckeye Blitz, an endurance rally in the 24 Hrs of Appalachia series hosted by BackRoads of Appalachia.
97 Vehicles accepted the 520 mile challenge through the backroads, gravel roads, and trails of Ohio. While expecting this alone to be a true test of endurance, skills, and teamwork, nature upped the ante and tossed in some flash flooding creating "hazardous conditions", like 36" water crossings, and small canyons formed in the trails causing cables to be pulled in the rain. Add in some Murphy's Law with some mechanical failures less than half the rigs were able to complete the route!
