Edo Kaal believes that it would be more useful to think about the atomic nucleus in terms of architecture rather than abstract mathematics. His Structured Atom Model (SAM) addresses the material basis of whether or not an element is radioactive, how the isotopes differ from one another, how instability occurs for large elements after lead, why alpha decay occurs, and much, much more. We ask the obvious questions to try to understand the model better.

PODCAST INFO: Anastasia completed her PhD studying microbial communication at Columbia University. When not talking to brilliant people or making movies, she spends her time painting and exploring the woods. Michael Shilo also did his PhD at Columbia studying the elastic properties of molecular water. When he's not in the film studio, he's exploring sound in music. They are both freelance professors at various universities.
