We think that BUZZ RACK’s Scorpion deserves to be a top choice for anyone who wants to carry 2 bikes, especially heavy bikes or electric bikes.

Bike carriers that are strong enough for electric bikes tend to be pretty beefy themselves, so handling these heavier bike carriers can be awkward. The Scorpion is a solid carrier at 18.3kg, but because it folds up it's relatively very easy to move about and to fit, without straining your back. Carry it to the tow ball in the folded position – there’s a handle above the tow ball clamp, so it’s an easy vertical lift. Place it over the tow ball – you'll be standing above the tow ball, not some distance behind it. You'll also find that the Scorpion stays level and does not crash to the ground when you let go of it. Tighten, lock, unfold – all parts click into place, including the number plate holder.

It’s particularly easy to tilt, with the tilt control just above the number plate. The lights are 5 function – they include a reversing light and a fog light if you have a 13 pin socket - and are UK legal, i.e. the fog light is on the right hand side / off side.

Fitting is a matter of spinning a hand-turning wheel, a really quick, easy thing to do. Turn the key in the tightening wheel and the carrier is then locked to the tow ball. An additional couple of turns on a Nyloc nut is usually required (spanner supplied), depending on the tow ball, to make sure the carrier won’t move from side to side.

It sits high on the tow ball, well clear of speed bumps and other hazards such as steep ferry ramps.

It's suitable for all bikes, including electric and other heavy bikes up to 30kg each, making it excellent long term value.

The wheel holders will accommodate all wheelbases, even very small children's bikes.

The wheel straps are tough, easily adjusted. An adapter is available if you've got wider tyres.

An extra anti-sway strap is included to prevent the front wheel from vibrating.

Both bike holders have locks, and the carrier also locks to the tow ball.

A steel frame helps protect the lights.

All parts are replaceable if e.g. someone forgets that a tow bar carrier is fitted and reverses into a wall - which happens!

The BUZZ RACK Scorpion comes with a 5 function 13 pin lighting system, with UK compliant fog lights, i.e. the fog light is on the right hand side / offside. A 7 to 13 adapter is also provided, for cars with 7 pin systems (if you have a 7 pin socket the reversing light and fog light will not work - the 7 pin socket isn't wired for these functions)..
