Back to the Basics is a kids Christian comedy series for ages 5-10, focusing on re-introducing children’s beloved Bible stories in an inventive new way. This show follows our protagonist, Professor Theo Von Zeitreise (“the Professor”), and his lovable lab assistant Goober, on their daily journey back in time to visit the Bible’s most famous Children’s stories, all while streaming it live on their daily kids show, Back to the Basics!

Meet the Characters from Back to the Basics

Professor Theo Von Zeitreise is an old, eccentric scientist with a love of history, a passion for teaching kids, and a desire to share the Bible. Yet, the Professor always remains upbeat and excited no matter what happens because all of it can be viewed through a scientific lens.

Goober is the Professor’s trusted lab assistant. Although he’s relatively slow to catch onto things, he’s got a big heart and is always doing his best to do what the Professor wants him to do. Unfortunately, that doesn’t mean he will always do everything correctly. When back in time, this definitely can be an issue.

Gertrude, or Gerty for short, is the lab’s pet bird. Although short on words (backock!), Gerty is long on attitude and has no issue interacting with our 2 primary show characters.

Doofus is a postal worker that brings packages to the lab constantly. With the team traveling back in time, he assumes the worst, that the Professor and his team are time-traveling machines from the future attempting to take over the world. As a result, he makes it his mission to stop them.
